MGT 1100: Elevator Pitch Feedback and the Career Map
Feedback on Oral Pitches
Take note of your space
Be sure that your camera is situated so that it is capturing a full head/shoulder shot of you.
Test your technology ahead of important virtual interactions.
Make sure your space is free from distractions.
Maintain good eye contact.
Avoid excessive hand gesturing.
Reduce the use of distracting and empty words.
Use the template provided in class and other resources to write a solid pitch.
Rehearse your pitch until your delivery sounds natural.
Common points to address in your written pitches:
Keep it professional
Keep it positive
At least cover the six stated points
Organize your thoughts as you would a good paragraph
Focus on you and making a connection with the person you are pitching to
End with the next step you plan to take or the next step you would like to see happen
Keep it brief - no longer than 30 or 35 seconds
