Plot
It is simple and interesting. Consequently, it is readable and understandable for the young learners to comprehend the plot.
For example, this folktale tells us about two siblings whereby the older brother was selfish and greedy, while the younger brother was kind and generous. After their dad passed away, the older brother took all of the land for himself and leaving his younger brother with only a basket and a sharp knife. Until one day, the younger brother met a bright bird and it brings him to the Island of The Sun and he become rich. Due to his greediness, the older brother stucked at the Island of The Sun.
In this story, the conflict is resolved and it provides satisfying conclusions.
To illustrate, we can see that the younger brother lives happily ever after and he even shared what he produced from the land inherited by his brother with others. Meanwhile, due to the older brothers' greediness, he was left alone at the Island of The Sun. He no longer can escape and his wealthiness such as his land is now inherited by his younger brother.
Characters
The characters in the story are people and animals. For example, the characters are the farmer, his two sons and the great bird.
The heroes are young such as the farmer sons which are the older brother and the younger brother. These two siblings portray different characteristics whereby the older brother was selfish and greedy while the younger brother was kind and generous.
