‘Married to her grave’ (Capulet) - Act 3 Scene 5
Here, the harsh juxtaposition of ‘grave’ and the much more positive connotations of ‘married’ portray the relationship between marriage and death- love and hate. In addition to this, it forebodes the final scenes of the play where Juliet lies in her grave, with her husband (represented by the verb ‘married’), also suggesting how, like Romeo, she was destined to die.
