Asexual reproduction
-
Binary fission
Fission means division. Here, the parent divides itself into two halves and this results in two new individuals. The new cells formed are identical to each other as well as to the parent.
-
Amoeba-The amoeba parent cell divides its nucleus into 2 followed by the division of the cytoplasm. Finally the body is divided into 2 parts each receiving a nucleus resulting in 2 daughter amoeba from one parent amoeba.
Budding
A new organism grows out of the parent organism forming a bulge called a bud. It grows and develops into a new individual.

Sexual reproduction
Requires 2 parents-one male and one female. The male and female reproductive cells fuse to form a third cell called a zygote. This is called fertilization.
Internal fertilization
-
Birds, Reptiles, Mammals-Humans.
External fertilization
-
Animals near ponds, frogs, toads
The female parent leaves eggs in the water and the male parent leaves sperms in the water. They fertilize into a zygote and then become new individuals.
Frogs-the female lays eggs in water and then the sperm is released(by the male)-it becomes a zygote and then into a tadpole.Frog eggs are very delicate and jelly like with no protective coating. Due to this, lots of eggs are released at first-so that there are more tadpoles. This process in frogs is called metamorphosis.

Twins

-
Fraternal twins
-
fertilized by 2 male gametes-formation of 2 embryos-usually of different gender-mostly do not look alike(there is a small chance that they have the same gender and that they look exactly alike, this is very rare though)
