Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Definition: It is a mental disorders that cause changes in a person's mood, energy and ability to function. There are three types of bipolar disorders which are Bipolar I Disorder, Bipolar II Disorder, and Cyclothymic Disorder.
Symptoms: These can range from extreme highs (mania) to extreme lows (depression).
Mania:
talking very quickly
being easily distracted
not feeling like sleeping
being easily to agitated or irritated
Depression:
feeling hopeless, sad most of the time
lack of energy
self-doubt
suicidal thoughts
Alternative Treatments:
Changes in lifestyles: This won't treat bipolar, however, it may enhance the treatment and help stabilize your mood. Changes that will help like: regular exercise, get enough sleep, and eat healthy foods.
Calming techniques: Stress can complicate bipolar disorder. Treatments including: massage therapy, yoga, and meditation aim to reduce anxiety and stress.
Diet: A healthful diet is important for people with bipolar disorder. People with bipolar have a higher risk of various other conditions, including low bone density, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. A healthful diet can help reduce the risk of the following conditions.
Alternative Treatments:
Exercise: For ADHD kids, exercise helps boost attention. Just a simple 20 minutes of jumping jacks, running up and down the stairs, or going for a brisk work may help. According to research it shows that these exercise sessions improved executive function tasks such as prioritizing and planning.
Mindfulness: It is a practice encourages focus on the present moment. This doesn't mean the kid will have to sit still, however, sitting still can help the kids with ADHD but they are not required to do. There are several techniques for the kids to stay in the moment, like deep breathing. Learning to focus on the present can reduce negative feelings and helps kids let go of what's already happened.
Going outside: Spending time outside helps children with ADHD. It can benefit them by improving their concentration.
Definition: a disorder marked by an ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development.
Symptoms:
Being unable to concentrate on tasks.
Acting without thinking.
Excessive physical movement.
Being unable to sit still.
Definition - mental disorder resulted in an abnormal thinking and perception
Symptoms:
False beliefs that aren’t base on reality
Hearing things that aren’t exist
Disorganized thinking and speech
Lack of abilities to function normally(lack of emotion, speak in a monotone, etc.)
Biochemical Treatments
Fluphenazine: an antipsychotic medication, uses in treatment for chronic psychoses It is given by mouth, injected into muscle or under the skin.
Common side effects are movement problems, sleepiness, depression, etc. It prevents a chemical in the central nervous system (CNS)
Aripiprazole: an atypical antipsychotic, primarily used in treatment for schizophrenia, taken by mouth or injected into muscle. It help reduces neurotransmitter activity when it is too high.
Common side effect may included headache, nausea, sleepiness, desire to gambling, sexual activity, etc.
Alternative Treatments
Life skills training: As Schizophrenia cannot be cured, learning how to manage it is as important as using medicine
Healthy Diet: As schizophrenia have an impact on cognitive development, eating fatty fish such as salmon, lake trout and sardine help in cognitive developement.

Alternative Treatments:
Yoga - yoga help reduce stress and clear you mind, this also help with eating disorder and various others mental disorder
Relaxation - eating disorder can be cause from stress and pressure, relaxing can help with eating disorder (especially binge eating disorder)
Definition - a disorder that significantly disturb eating choices and perception toward food and body image
Biochemical Treatments:
Anorexia Nervosa - this type of eating disorder doesn't use medicine to cure
Bulimia Nervosa - Prozac: a medicine uses for bulimia nervosa, major depression and anxiety. The medicine prevent the medicine from reabsorbing serotonin (neurotransmitter in the digestive track), Prozac helps the brain to maintain enough serotonin so that you have a feeling of well-being, resulting from improved communication between brain cells.
Binge Eating Disorder - Vyvanse: a medicine mainly uses to treat ADHD as well as binge eating disorder. It help by improving how the brain communicate and balance chemical in the brain
Biochemical Treatments:
Dexedrine: It is a long-acting or short-acting capsule taken orally, mainly used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD or ADD) in children 3-12 years old, adolescents and adults. A
Dexedrine may help increase focus and reduce impulsivity and hyperactive behavior, two of the symptoms that stand out for some people with ADHD.
Concerta:It is an extended-release central nervous system stimulant, used primarily to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD and ADD) in children 6-12 years old, adolescents, adults 65 years of age, ADHD, and to reduce impulsivity and hyperactivity behaviors.

For mood stabilizers
Divalproex: This drug is used to treat seizures, mental / mood conditions (such as the manic phase of bipolar disorder), and to prevent migraine headaches. It works by restoring the balance of some natural substances (neurotransmitter) in the brain.
Lamotrigine: This drug is used alone or with other medicines to prevent or control seizures (epilepsy). Also, it may be used to help prevent the severe mood swings of bipolar disorder in adults. This drug is not approved for use in children younger than 2 years due to an increased risk of side effects such as infection.
