When the shroud is luminous it appears to be hollow. The exterior remains black but, somehow, observers with other vision will describe it as being hollow. That they can somehow see through the outer surface and that the interior of the cloud is lit from the inside. Like a light inside of a balloon but the light never gets out. This is very confusing for anyone who hears this description that does not have the Othervision power. When someone who has seen a Luminous Shroud describes it they often sound contradictory. They will say that the Shroud is black as usual but illuminated from the inside but somehow the illumination isn't real light. When pressed for a better explanation many clairvoyants will become frustrated with their inability to faithfully describe it and state simply "That is just how clairvoyance works! Sometimes you just see inside of things." Some others have described the luminous state as if it was a glimpse into the anatomy of the Shroud. It is like they can see separate sources of illumination inside. Just as often they will describe the illumination as being a source of a projection of a black light that can cast inverse shadows. Like a flashlight or lantern that dims every physical world object (like cars, chairs, people, walls, etc...) that it shines on but at the same time makes any part of the Shroud that it is cast on to be more visible. Something like a negative of a photograph.
