He was born on April 1564 in Stratford-on-Avon and died when he was 52
he was married to a woman called Anne Hathaway
he was son of a rich merchant
he had the opportunity to attend the local grammar school
she was eight years older than him
the couple had 3 children
almost nothing is known about his life from 1584
he seems to have left his city to make his fortune in London
in London he was active as an actor and a playwright and where he built with his company The Globe
at Shakespeare's time plays were not supposed to be printed
there was not copywright
companies couldn't protect their works
One of Shakespeare's most famous plays is entitled "The Tempest"
despite this some Shakespeare's plays were printed but only when he died
The work is so titled because in the narration there are 2 important tempests
one made by nature and the other one by magic
Caliban
the main characters are: Prospero, Miranda, Antonio, Alonso, Ferdinand, Gonzalo, Caliban, and Ariel
plot
in general all the action take place in the island, and it develops in only one afternoon
he is the symbol of the nature
all the characters have a good and bad side
he is a savage and his name reminds the word "cannibal"
ex. Caliban acts BAD when he try to rape Miranda
Caliban has a positive impact when he talks about his island
Prospero
he is the symbol of the culture
despite this he treats Caliban very badly, he acts like he is the king and the others the slaves
even if Caliban immediately welcomed him and showed him the secrets of the island

Arial
arial is a spirit trapped in a tree by Caliban's mother and freed later by Prospero
Arial feels is indebted to Prospero and wants to be his slave
