The law is Gods holy and righteous requirement

It is Gods written law in the 5 books of Mozes (Pentateuch) or all the books of the old testament (Thora)
.

The law are the moral, ceremonial and civilian laws, given in the Sinaï were given (1447 v.C.) (de Thora)

The ceremonial laws are fulfilled and therefor abolished

The civilian laws are replaced by the teaching about the kingdom

The moral laws will stay accurate forever.

The book of exodus makes clear that the people of God need his mercy and do not deserve anything

The book of Leviticus arranges how his people can come close to Him--all rules and laws have there origin in Him-- the laws of the OT prepared the people for the messias to come

The book of Genesis teaches how the free will of mankind failed

Purpose is that God reveals to his people on earth His Glory and that his people show His glory to the world.

The laws should educate us/ be a rule of life to us/ be a mirror/be a judge/ to reveal sins/ as a magnifying glass/ and to bridle us

Purpose of the ceremonial law: God wants to teach His people how to live close to Him, how to relate to Him, how to worship Him and how to serve Him.

-Those were given to make them a holy people amongst other people -They are not to follow strict and punctual for us in these days, but still very relevant on fe. marriage

10 commandments: -i am the Lord thy God -No other gods before me. -No graven images or likenesses. -Not take the LORD's name in vain -Remember the sabbath day. -Honour thy father and thy mother. -Thou shalt not kill. -Thou shalt not commit adultery -Thou shalt not steal -Thou shalt not bear false witness -Thou shalt not covet (begeren)

Questions: 1.What laws would you like to talk about tonight? 2. What examples do you have of laws that were very wise to keep for the people those days (think of the plaque and not eating pig meet). 3. What laws do you still keep, of which God shows you tonight that they might be your own law?
