3.Refusal of the call
Due to the involuntary nature of the Tornado, it would have been difficult for her to refuse the call to action.
9.Reward
The scarecrow received a diploma for his education, the tin man received a heart shaped watch, the lion received a badge of honor, and Dorothy got to go back home.
The hero´s journey is a common narrative story template that involves a hero who goes on an adventure, learns a lesson, win a victory with that newfound knowledge and at the end returns home.
It is used for the hero to complete the path to the purpose
2.Call to adventure
A tornado comes to Dorothy home and makes her fly away to Oz
4.Mentor/Helper
Glinda the good witch sends Dorothy to see the wizard of Oz.
5.Cross the Threshold
Dorothy happily travels across the Yellow Brick Road.
6.Encounter
Dorothy meets many characters on the Yellow Brick road to Oz. As she meets them, she finds out who will be her friends and her enemies.
7.Aproach
Dorothy enters Oz at long last and is challenged to slay the wicked witch of the West.
8.Ordeal
Dorothy melts the wicked witch of the West and takes her hear to give to the wizard.
10.Road Back
Dorothy closes her eyes, clicks her heals three times, and she says, "there's no place like home".
11.Atonement
Dorothy could go back home the whole time.
Return
Dorothy loves her home and will never complain about it again.
