Oversharing on social media leads to young adults relying on social media as a part of their everyday life. People with social anxiety have been reported to feel as if social media have helped them be able to talk to people, but this behavior could also just be reinforcing antisocial behavior
Comparison - young adults are impressionable and gain a false view of how things are on a daily basis. They also have access to instagram models and people who young adults compare their bodies, clothes, and lifestyles to constantly.
Cyberbullying has been an issue since social media was introduced, and it still negatively affects many people today. The internet can become a very toxic place where people feel as if they can get away with more, and bullying becomes an issue.

Social media helps people connect more easily to their friends and loved ones.

It is important to be aware of social media use on a personal level and hold oneself accountable for how long you use social media each day.
Being self aware with media is the key for having a healthy relationship with social media.
Go on social media breaks where you delete all of the social media off of your phone until you decide you are ready.
