PATHOGENESIS
This is a disorder in which the bones within the body lose their strength and structure that can lead to multiple consequences including skeletal fractures
Osteoporosis used to be known as two difference forms- one from estrogen deficiency after menopause and the other from a calcium deficiency. That has now been replaced with the concept that Osteoporosis can be caused by a multitude of things including but not limited to hyperparathyroidism, calcium deficiency, vitamin D deficiency, or the body inability to replace lost bone
