Pain, usually concentrated on the lower left side of abdomen but can sometimes be more intense on right side, especially in people of Asian descent

Evenly distributed between males and females, but younger patients are more likely to be male and have a more aggressive symptoms

Can cause abdominal pain, fever, nausea, change in bowel habits, leukocytosis
