Genre Analysis Essay
-
New academic writing style: genre analysis essay. No longer analyzing the text as much, needed to link to its genre.
When I first start writing my first draft, I wrote it in the manner that is very similar to the academic analysis essays I wrote back in high school. Those essays mainly focuses on analyzing the text itself. So I had trouble trying to connect the text to its genre.
-
New rough draft form: free writing. Never had I ever did free writes on quotes for the essay before. It worked out pretty well for my genre analysis essay
Finding quotes before writing the essay to express my opinion/arguments for the topic so I can better express my ideas and map them out in organized manner when I write second draft.
-
Having the freewriting up already helped me to organize slightly better than I would if I just go freeform on the first draft. It allows me to know which topic I should write first so the flow of the essay made sense.

Still need to work on figuring out how to discover the writing convention of other through reading that genre of writing (opinion articles)
Not much clear convention from the articles I've read. All felt similar --argument---evidences/support argument--- conclusion
