An electrical circuit is a series of interconnected components that an electric current flows trough to produce an effect (like light, heat, sound, or motion.

In these circuits, all the components are connected one after the other. This way, all the current to flow trough.
If one load devices stops working, none of them will work because the circuit will be open. This happens when one of the load devices fails or is not connected to the circuit properly.
The lamps will not be very bright because the energy suplied by the cell is shared among all three.
The same current flows trough all the load devices.
Closed circuits
Conductors
Wire
Control devices
In these circuits, the load devices are connected on differents branches of the wire. There are several possible paths for the electric current to flow trough.
One- way switch
Push switch

More electric current flows in the branch that offers the least resistance.
Even if one of the load devices stops working, the rest continue to work because the electric current takes another path (the circuits is closed by another path).
The current does not flow equally trough all the load devices; instead, it is shared by all the possible paths
The lamps will shine very brightly because the energy from the cell reaches them directly.
Enviroment impact of energy production and transmission
Responsible use of electrical energy
These cicuits contain devices connected in series and in parallel.
In this case, the circuits have properties of both series circuits and parallel circuits.
A circuit is closed when the energy of the power source reaches the load devices, so the electric current flows.
When we save energy , we save money too but more importantly , we save natural resources and help to protect the enviroment . this is why we need to consume responsibly and only use the energy we need and always in moderation.
Electrical energy is generated industrially in power stations, which covert a form of energy (chemical, mechanical, thermal, light, etc.) to electrical energy.
Many power stations have an impact on our enviroment because they pollute the atmosphere, add to the greenhouse effect, pollute the water , etc. power lines also have an enviromental impact. The use of renewable energies is being promoted as a green alternative to conventional power stations.
A circuit is open when the energy of the power source cannot reach the load devices, so the electric current cannot flow. This can happen if the switch is open, but it can also bebecause of a fault in the circuit (for example, if a wire is loose).

We can convert electricity to light trough load devices such as incandescent maps, fluorescent tubes and electronic or low-energy lamps.
When electrons move treough a conductor or load device, they create friction with the material as they pass trough, which produces heat. This effect is known as the Joule effect. We sometimes want this effect (in heating appliances, for example). Other times, we do not want heat so it is considered a loss of enegy (for example, bulbs produce light and they heat up too; a motor also heats up as it rotates).
We can also covert electricity to motion using a motor. The affect obtained when we make an electric current flow through a motor is than its shaft turns in a rotary motion. This type of ebergy is used in washing machines and drills.
We can use electrical to transmit sounds though microphones and we can produce sound effects throug sirens , buzzers and bells. the sound that comes out of a loudspeak eris produced by vibrations in a membrane that are caused by electrical energy.
