Andean wasteland
The páramo is a characteristic formation of the Tropical Andes of northern South America, between the arboreal border and the line of perpetual snow (around 5000 meters). This ecosystem consists mainly of valleys and plains created by glaciers, with lots of lakes, wetlands of decomposing vegetation, and pastures with areas of bushes and forests. It has a great diversity of plants, mammals, birds and multicolored flora such as spongy vegetation, bromeliads, mosses and small Andean tree forests.
