User Interface
Usability Principles
Since human’s attention spans are really short. This application needs to grab users attention as fast as possible, which will need a simplistic yet attractive design. For example, texts can be replaced with icons (Effectiveness & Utility & Accessibility).
Users should intuitively be able to navigate through this app via clear pathways and be able to complete all primary tasks without requiring any explanations or tutorials (Learnability).
Interface elements should be able to capture all users fingers while they are interacting. Action buttons should also not be too close to each other as they may risk users make undesired actions leading to frustration (Learnability & Utility).
The layout should take ideas from other successful food ordering apps as the users may be expecting this. For example, liven has high quality images followed with title and description underneath (Utility).
Users should feel completely safe and secure while using this app without worrying their personal information being released (Safety).
Since Brisbane State High School has many students from different background. This app should have equal user diversity and inclusive language and terms. Users shouldn’t feel being targeted as a victim or being harassed (Accessibility).
The colour combinations of this app should be around the school spirit as the users are the BSHS students (Accessibility).
All required features of this task should be in the app as the clients and users are expecting them (Utility).
