Socrates was one of the greatest thinkers and challenged young people to think too. People did not like how he told children his ideas. Socrates liked democracy, it was just that he didnβt like the lottery system and said it was run by fools. He wanted the best people to govern and not some random person.
PERICLES
Pericles was an influential skilled public speaker or a prominent orator. An ancient Greek historian called him βthe first citizen of Athens,β because he dominated Athenian life for over 20 years. This period (450β430 BCE) became known as βThe Age of Pericles.β
Athenian Democracy vs Canadian Democracy
Canadian Democracy
Anyone over the age of 18 could vote. People would vote for the positions and more skilled people would be in control.
Athenian Demoracy
Athenian Democracy- Only Men over 20 could vote and the positions were chosen randomly.
My opinion
In my opinion direct democracy is better because more people can express their opinion but it can be bad because people donβt vote wisely or they would vote for someone they don't really care about so another party would lose.
