terrestrial and jovial planets

the inner planets of our solar system are known as terrestrial meaning the have solid surfaces

the Jovial planets contains the planets that are farthest from the sun,

-Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune

they are relatively small compared to gas giants

mercury and venus have no moons

Mercury- named for the speedy messenger god.

-completes revolution around the sun in 88 Earth days,

-rotates very slowly taking 57 Earth days to complete a single rotation,

-Venus has been named for the Goddess of Beauty,

-one of the reasons Venus shines so brightly is that the planet is covered in bright yellowish white clouds,

-nearly the size of Earth and many have called it earths twin

-tied to Earth is a relatively large single moon

-the Earth truly is a water planet

-from space we can see oceans, clouds and ice caps

-no other known planet in our solar system has liquid water at the surface

  • so far, earth is the only known planet to have life

Terrestrial and jovial planets are similar because all the planets complete and rotation and revolution

the outer planets are bigger in size

the outer planets atmosphere is made out of hydrogen and helium

the outer planets are all made up of gas although scientists leads that they might have a much smaller or liquid center

-outer planets have a fast rotation

-Jupiter is the largest outer planet with a diameter of 80, 846 miles

Saturn has a huge ring system

unlike with inner planets, you would not be able to stand on outer planets due to density

there is a theory that you would be able to stand on the inner planets

-inner planets have greater density

-Mercury has no atmosphere

-Venus has the thickest atmosphere

-Mercury is the smallest inner planet with a diameter of 3031 miles

all the planets were formed roughly around the same time

both jovial and terrestrial planets have magnetic fields

all the planets are spherical
