Conductors and insulators. Static electricity.
Materials that do not let electric current flow through them are called. INSULATORS
Materials that let electric current flow through them are called.
CONDUCTORS
.
Electricity. Electrical energy
All materials are made up of very small particles called atoms.
There are three types:
Neutrons
Electrons
Protons
Electrical energy
Electricity
Electric current
Open circuits, closed circuits and short circuits
Open circuits
When the energy of the power source cannot reach the load devices, so the electric current cannot flow.
Closed circuits
When the energy of the power source reaches the load devices, so the electric current flow.
Short circuit
In a electric circuit, a short circuit occurs when the electric current is transported by the wires without passing through a load devices.
Types of circuits
There are three types of circuits
Parallel circuits
In this circuits, the load devices are connected on different branches of the wire.
Series-pararllel combination circuits
In this case, the circuits have properties of both series circuits and parallel circuits.
Series circuit
In this circuits, all the components are connected one after other.

Energy and the environment
Enviromental impact of energy production and transmission.
Electrical energy is generated industrially in power stations, wich convert a form of energy.
Example Thermal
Respnsible use of electrical energy.
When we save energy, we save money too but more importantly, we save natural resoucers and help to protect the enviroment.
Example Energy bulbs
