The Kiosk - Coggle Diagram

- - - - order food and drinks without interacting with staff on an iPad mounted outside the cafe

  - - - pros
        
        Effective and clear way of adding or removing items. using a + button and - button and having the quantity of the item in the middle in large, bold, black lettering is easy to understand
        
        the cancel order and confirm order buttons are large and placed clearly at the bottom of the screen. The cancel lorder button is red and the confirm order is green which is fitting for the buttons respective roles.
      - cons
        
        scrolling feature to see more food items is not clear and therefore not many people know there are more options
        
        back button is placed in an awkward area (in the top right corner) of the screen and is very small which makes it very hard to find and go back to the previous screen
        
        no filters to filter foods
    - - pros
        
        can sort food and restraunts using a variety of filters including most popular, ratings, price range and dietary requirements
        
        menu is organssed in food categories which is easy to see and understand
        
        customising food items shows additional price clearly on the right hand side
      - cons
        
        no daily calory intake information
        
        home screen convuluted with too muc information (offers, ratings, restaunts, food) . in addition, transition from vertical and horizontal scrolling which is unnecesary and ineffective
- - - - Responsive and streamlined experience – vertical scrolling feature (in the form of table views) will be utilised so that more orders can be viewed without impeding the user's (kitchen staff) experience (learnability, effectiveness)
      - Strategic placement of frequently accessed features and buttons e.g. random order button at the top of the menu screen (utility, learnability)
      - Consistent, simplistic and holistic design – consistent BSHS colour scheme, therefore, abiding by Shneiderman's Golden Rules. In addition, table views and clear, visible buttons are used in app. These features allow anyone to use the app with ease no matter age (high school students, teachers and kitchen staff), gender or cultural differences (accessibility, learnability, effectiveness)
      - Incorporate a back button to allow the user to reverse their actions, therefore, abiding by Shneiderman’s Golden Rules (safety)
      - Provision of simple clear instructions will be included e.g. Instructions on what the user should do to use the random order function in the app (effectiveness, accessibility)
      - Using universally identifiable icons and colours to represent different aspects of the app as requested by CUE guidelines e.g.plus sign for add menu item quantity to order (learnability)
      - alternate text form for images (accessibility)
      - appropriate and different headings on each screen as stated in the Australian accessibility guidelines (accessibility, utility)
      - levels on each page have a meaningful hierarchy as stated in the Australian accessibility guidelines e.g. page title on the top of screen and smaller heading on first scrolling feature (accessibility, utility)
      - appropriate contrast ratio between text and background as said by the Accessibility guidelines this will be achieved using the BSHS Visual Identity Guide (accessibility, utility)
      - include logo of BSHS on each page as required by the BSHS Visual Identity Guide (accessibility)
      - App complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and does not send information to third party applications without school or individual consent (safety)
