Discuss the possibility and consequences of the computer replacing the teacher in the future
intro:
it is quite possible for computers to replace teachers in the future in regards to academic teaching
this is further enforced with the constant improvement of technology
can bring about more efficient learning for students
can also streamline the education system with less human error
Although it is likely that computers will replace teachers in the future, causing both positive and negative consequences
however due to technological limitations and the difficulty of changing the traditional classroom to a fully computerised one, it might still be a very long time before this is actually carried out.
The role of a teacher is to inspire, motivate, encourage and educate learners.
Thesis statement:
In my opinion, while computers certainly have a chance to replace teachers in the future, I strongly believe that the negative consequences such as students losing a guide in life and the arts being neglected outweigh the positive consequences such as more efficient and accurate teaching.
point 2:
Computers through Artificial intelligence and machine learning will be able to imitate teachers and in turn use those data to provide a more accurate approach to teaching students
this is especially applicable for more basic scientific and fact based subjects, like sciences and maths, which are very concrete and have very concrete answers
for example there is a online self-learning website called Khan Academy, which allows students to learn math and science through videos tutorials, quizes, and articles
Thus khan academy is basically allowing students to learn topics all by themselves. so if something like this is implemented in school, fact based subjects like these
Topic Sentence: Due to the nature of computers, it promises to be more accurate and know more than teachers, as such it would prove a better 'teacher' due to its efficiency.
point 3:
computers are not able to cater to the need of every student, as each student is different and thus have different needs
more abstract subjects like music, art and literature are very human subjects that computers are very unlikely to have a good grasp of
these subjects require a deeper layer of analysis and critical thinking, and even creativity, all of which is extremely hard for robots to acquire, if not impossible
Topic Sentence: Regardless of how good computers are, they are unable to replicate that 'human' touch as such subjects such as the arts may be neglected or inadequately taught.
point 1:
technology is already an essential part of teaching
used daily (computers, interactive websites, projector, google meet)it also helps student's visualise and understand better.
these technologies help teaching to be easier and more fun.
Topic Sentence: Computers are already interwoven into the fabric of the education as the days past by, computers will only be more embedded into the fabric of the education system and one day perhaps even completely replace teachers
with the increasing integration of technology in teaching, it is just a matter of time before they take over partially or completely
point 4:
teacher acts as a guide, a mentor and an inspiration for students, much like their role model
Learn life skills(time management, decision making),so a child need a teacher as computer cannot teach them these skills
teachers are able to counsel students especially those who are vulnerable( Students who have a lot of mental stress, family issues etc) and also to nurture students moral compass and passions
Topic Sentence: However a teacher's role is not just to teach but also to guide, they are the moulders of the child's life and we simply can't trust a computer with such a noble task.
