Sun safe policies at St Anthony’s
Students without adequate sun protection sit in shaded areas obeying the rule ‘No Hat, No Play’ policy
All students and staff wear hats that protect the face, neck and ears when outdoors
Inform parents of the SunSafe policy.
Encourage children to use shade when possible.
Encourage all teachers and staff to act as positive role models in regards to SunSafe behaviour.
Encourage children to apply SPF 15 or higher before leaving for school or before going outdoors
All Students and teachers have access to Sun Screen
Students are to wear hats and other sun protection especially during PE, swimming, lunch breaks and excursions.
Include sun safe policy in the school policy and practise document
Seek ongoing support from parents and the school community for the sun safe policy
Ensure shade is proved at sporting carnivals and other outdoor activities
Review sun smart policy on a regular bases
Ensure all students and staff wear hats that protect the face, neck and ears when involved in outdoor activities and have access to sun screen where parental consent is supplied
Support the schools sun safe policy
Use shaded areas or covered areas wherever possible when outdoors
Take responsibility for their own health and safety by being sunsafe
Comply with sun safe rules and guidelines by wearing suitable sun safe clothing especially during PE, Swimming, lunch breaks and excursions
Participate and support any sun safe education program
Include shade in the school grounds
