Why does the body need carbohydrates?
Carbs are your body's main source of energy
It fuels your brain, kidneys, heart muscles, and central nervous system
An example would be fiber. It helps with digestion and makes you feel full (it also maintains cholesterol levels)
How much is needed daily?
Carbs make up 45 to 65 % of your total daily calories, so if you have a range of 2,000 calories a day, then you should have between 900-1,300 calories of carbohydrates.
