Heat Related Illnesses
What to do:
Give the victim:
Commercial Sports Drinks
Coconut water
Milk
Water
Call 911 if severe
Signs and Symptoms:
Headache, Dizziness and Nausea
Thirst
High body temperature
Unconsciousness
Types of heat related illnesses:

Heat Cramp
Heat Exhaustion
Heat Stroke
Keep hydrated to prevent these illnesses
Cold Related Emergencies
Frostbite
Signs and Symptoms:
Mostly in nose, ears, fingers and toes are effected
Skin changed color to white, yellow, blue or red
Blisters, and black turned skin
Feels numb
Skin is cold to the touch
What to do:
Treat with warm water for 20 - 30 minutes
Loosely bandage the area
Apply gauzes and cotton between the frostbitten toes or fingers
Hypothermia
Signs and Symptoms
Unresponsiveness
Disoriented, confused
Shivering
What to do:
Call 911
Move to a warmer place
Remove any wet clothing, and dry the person
Poisining
Signs and Symptoms
Body pain, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
Trouble Breathing
Abnormal skin color, sweating
Unconsciousness, seizures, headaches
Depends on the type, and amount of poison take in
What to do:
Call the National Poising Hotline
(1-800-222-1222)
If it is a life-threatening emergency, call 911
Seize up the scenes
(Amount of poison taken in, how much the person weighs etc.)
