Enzymes - Coggle Diagram
Enzymes
-
Enzyme Activity:
Enzymes main purpose: Is to lower energy barriers and by doing this speeding up the cell's chemical reaction.
-
Enzyme Types:
-
Holoenzyme: These are complex enzymes it means that they are made of apoenzyme and a cofactor or coenzyme.
Non-protein helpers:
Cofactors: They are inorganic helpers like copper, zinc, and iron.
-
Models:
Lock and Key Model: In this model the substrate and the lock is the enzyme. And it happens when the key which is the substrate fits perfectly into the enzymes active site which is the key hole.
Induced Fit Model: When the substrate does not exactly fit the active site the enzyme shapes it self for it to fit.
