Communication
Most assignments were communicated to us first through conversation rather than a notification from google classroom
We asked our teachers our questions in person rather than through comments on google classroom
Lunch time was filled with conversation and catching up
Most of our communication was face to face in-person
Perceptions and Attitudes
Our attitude towards school was negitive
We had the perception that school would continue as normal for all 4 of our highschool years
We took advantage of how nice it was to be in school everyday all day with all our friends
We had the perception that an extended march break would be the time of our life
Behaviour
Ate lunch in cafeteria or halls
It is expected behavior to physically raise your hand in class
Bus students entered through the parking lot doors
"VSCO girl" was a popular way of dressing and was a way of dressing "basic"
Rites and Rituals
Remembrance day ceremony was a 2 hour event in the gym with the entire school and guest veterans and speakers
We had an academic achievement banquet each year to celebrate honor students and students with exceptional academic sucess
Our school rules and expectations assembly at the beginning of the year was held in person in the cafeteria
We had resiliency assemblies every month
Lore and Myths
Riverdale was a popular show and was talked about often
Old Town Road was a popular song
"And I Oop" was a popular phrase that was used when something or someone did something that caught you off guard or caught your attention
Tictok only had 35 million users and was not talked about often
Social Organization
Leadership camp was a popular social opportunity
Online groups were a secondary resource for socializing
Clubs were a popular social opportunity
Sports teams were a popular social opportunity
Relationships
It was much easier to make friends as you would be able to talk to anyone face to face whenever you liked
Relationships were stronger because we had an opportunity to connect more often and personally
Most relationships were formed through meeting people in person
We valued our relationships a lot less
Written and Unwritten Rules
All students have a locker each year to store their stuff in
OSSLT test to be written in Grade 10
School hours are from 8:30am-2:30pm
Don't block off the grade 12 hallway when people are trying to walk through
