Practical requirement - Coggle Diagram

- - - - Pass the opening of the test tube over a flame
      - Quickly pour the bacteria onto a plate and replace the lid
      - Secure the lid with adhesive tape and swirl gently to make sure the entire plates covered.
      - Incubate the plate until the bacterial colonies grow
    - - These are used to test antibiotic resistance,
      - Place a paper disk soaked in antibiotics in a Petri dish
      - Incubate for several days
      - Spread bacteria on a petri dish to create a 'bacteria lawn'
      - How resistant the bacteria are depends on how clear the plate is. The areas that are clear contained non - resistant bacteria.
      - The clear areas are called ZONES OF INHABITION
    - - Hold the inoculating loop over a flame
      - Streak a fine layer of the bacterial cells in a zig - zag pattern across a portion of the dish.
      - Pass the loop over a flame again before streaking another fine layer of bacterial cells in a different direction
      - Do this four times until it make a square
      - Incubate for 1-2 days
