Psychology of a sport injury.
How an individual’s mindset, cognition, and/or emotions affects the:
Mentality of an athlete in relation to fear of an injury occurring
Fear of an injury occurring / what causes an athlete to be at a higher risk of injury
Depression and other mental health problems and eating disorders
Athletes who experience high levels of stress
Lack of fitness of an athlete can be a greater risk of injury, depending on time of season ie. returning to pre-season training
Substance use and abuse
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD)
Fear of reinjury
Fear and anxiety around new injury due to lack of fitness levels
Pain related fears of doing exercise
