Location: Eastern Africa, west of Somalia.

Government: federal republic.

English is the most spoken foreign language.
Asiatic, Semitic, Cushitic, osmotic and Nilo-Saharan.
Ahmaric was a primary language until they substitute it for Oromifa and Tugrinya.
Curiosity: After the fall of the Derg regime (1991) a new constitution allowed ethnicities to create their own language and establish the one that would be primary.

They were very wealthy, and their richness came from mostly, international trade.

It had a good location, specially because it was almost at open sea. which made it easier to trade.
They became an international trading power.
They would mainly trade: salt, rhinoceros horns, tortoise shells, ivory, emeralds, and gold.

Baptism curiosity:
There is one, specific church (Abuna Yemata Guh), that baptises people in a place that is 400m above a valley floor. The only possible way to get to the church is climbing it.
Many parents baptise their children in that specific church because they believe they are closer to God.
It's very dangerous to climb because the possibility of falling and surviving is close to none.
Cuisine
Typical: injera bread.
They have this tradition called Gursha, where a local Ethiopian gives you food in your mouth as a sign of happiness and respect.
Their foods mainly consist of vegetable and very spice meat (usually served in inejra bread).

One of the first "adopted" religions was Christianity by the Aksum empire in the 4th century.
They only "adopted" it because it would strengthen their trading relationship
While the other nations were Islamic, Ethiopia remained Christian.
