Train ride = few hours from deportation center to Bohusovic Station
H & G must walk a few kilometers from the station to Theresienstadt with their heavy suitcase
H & G are being separated
H goes to Kinderheim L410 for the next 2 years
Kinderheim L410 = a large plain building with about 10 dormitory rooms
At the beginning, H was not allowed to go outside
Older girls took her under their wing = Ella (friend)
The food ticket man liked H, she said no each time
Girls over 15 worked in the garden (fruits, vegetable, flowers) ran by Mr Schwartzbart
Once in a while, he allowed H to come in the garden
Chores: she dusted, cleaned and swept, washed the dishes under a pomp
A secret Attic: music classes, sewing classes and art classes (H's favorite)
Friedl Dicker-Brandeis = art teacher (a famous painter), wanted to help children with art to forget brutal surroundings at least for a while
Rules changed: girls were allowed to go out once a week for 2 hours
