Persian army / style of warfare
The immortals were the persoanl guard of the king, which was always made up of 1000 soldiers. They were the elite soldiers of the Persian army and are represented on the walls of the royal palaces. They were the ones sent over the rear of the pass at the battle of Thermopylae to kill the Spartans
