The writer must indicate his/her in a position of authority
to write on the subject
Summarize for the readers about important developments on the topic by including a brief survey of the literature
3) Reflection
Reviewing the literature, making generalizations, or emphasizing the importance of the idea will highlight the knowledge and the interest of the writer.
The writer may wish to outline how he/she is going to
solve the problem.
The author also may wish to signal early what problem
he/she intends to solve.

Use: generate ideas for the article and discard elements which may not be useful
