DEFORESTATION
Deforestation has many negative effects on the environment. The most dramatic impact is the loss of habitat for millions of species. Seventy percent of the animals and plants inhabit the Earth's forests and many cannot survive the deforestation that destroys their environment.
PROBLEMS
Without trees to perpetuate the hydrological cycle, many jungles and forests can quickly turn into arid deserts.
-
Having fewer forests means emitting more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere at a greater speed and severity of climate change.
-
-
Up to 28,000 species are expected to become extinct by the next quarter century due to deforestation.
-
SOLUTION
-
Manage plant resources carefully by eliminating agricultural clearings to ensure forest environments remain intact
-
The felling that is carried out must be done in a balanced way by planting young trees to replace the older ones in all forests and jungles.
