Mixture separation methods
Heterogenous mixtures
Mechanial Separation methods
Sedimentation and decantation
Is based on the diferent densities and allows the components of a suspension to be seperated
Centrifuging and decantion
It's a method to separate two liquids with diferent densites by spining by a high velocity.
Leaching
One of the components must be solube in liquid.
Decantation
A separating funnel allows the liquid components with diferent densities to be separated.
Filtratioin
Suspended solid fragments are extracted from liquid, by pores of the filter paper
Flotation
Allows to separate a solid from a liquid . The solid must float on the liquid so it's density has to be minor
Sieving
Allows mixtures of solids of differents sizes to be separated
Magnetic separation
This method allows the components with magnetic properties .
Homegenous mixtures
Physical methods
Distillation
Allows liquids with diferent boiling point to be separated
Chromatography
In this method the components get separed by traveling through a surface
Vaporitzation
Is use to separate solutions fo solids in a liquid solvent by heating it and then it vaporizes
