Copyright
-
Copyright is a tricky beast to navigate, as is plagiarism. This section is gonna explain that very briefly.
Copyright law is basically the idea that you can't just use other people's work without permission. This means that you need to cite sources, you can't just remake something that someone else made without permission, and a bunch of other things.
Some uses of copyrighted stuff go under "Fair Use", which means that permission is not required. Generally, this is for commentary or parody. It's less likely to be under fair use if it's going to harm the author in any way, or if you benefit monetarily from it, but that's not always going to be the case, because the law there is somewhat fuzzy.

Digital Footprint
Your digital footprint is, in essence, the traces you leave behind on the internet. This is what people and companies can find out about you solely through your activity on the internet. Generally, you want this footprint to be small.
