Thr concept of interlang. paved the way for comm. teaching methods. Since errors are considered a reflection of students temporary lang. system, tteachers could now use teaching activities which did not call for constant supervision of the student's language. Group work & pair work suitable means for lang. learning.
6.Error analysis and treatment. Plays a central role in interlang. theory, they provide + evidence about the process of acq. Tell information about where they are and on the strategies they made to assimilate the rules of the L2.Error: result of a lack of competence.Mistake: aspects like fatigue, no attention.Error analysis concentrate psychological errors.
INTERLINGUAL ERRORS. resulting from L1 interference, transfer. INTRALINGUAL OR DEVELOPMENTAL ERRORS partial learning of the target lang. Overgeneralization or simplification.
Error treatment & language learning impl.-correct persistent mistakrd. -be aware of error that most make -aware of structures which are beginning to emerge in their interlanguage & provide guided instriction at that moment -encourage students to take part in the process.
