Hinduism
Attaining Moksha or salvation is important for liberating the soul from the eternal cycle of birth and rebirth. Since our soul is eternal and never dies, it simply passes on to another body.
Hindu's believe that death is only material, and only the body dies. Hindu's believe that the soul passes onto another body until you live a life where you have good karma. When this happens you achieve Moksha. When you achieve moksha you are liberated from the cycle of birth and rebirth. (Reincarnation)

In both Buddhism and Christianity the followers believe in the idea of salvation. I believe that this connects to the idea of hope and being saved from death. With the Hindu's through achieving moksha, (which translates to salvation) and Christians through Jesus. (Jesus is the messiah which means savior)
In both Hinduism and Buddhism they believe in the concept of reincarnation and enlightenment. Enlightenment in Hinduism is described as Moksha, and in Buddhism it is described as Nirvana. Each are acheived in different ways. Nirvana is achieved when a Buddhist follows the eight fold path or the middle way. Moksha is achieved when a Hindu has good karma during their life.
Buddhism
Through good actions, such as ethical conduct, and by developing concentration and wisdom, Buddhists hope to either gain enlightenment or to ensure a better future for themselves.
When Buddhists achieve enlightenment, they are liberated from the cycle of death and rebirth. (Reincarnation)
This gives the Buddhists hope because they know they will die, but they also believe that death is not the end. Their soul will live forever.

Islam
"Heaven is described in the Qur’an as a beautiful garden. Jannah is Paradise, where those who have been good go. It is described in the Qur’an as “gardens of pleasure” (Qur’an 31:8)" From the BBC.
Jannah is similar to heaven. There are many responsibilities of Muslims if they wish to go to Jannah. A few of these responsibilities are fasting during Ramadan and praying multiple times per day.
The idea of going to Jannah provides hope because Muslims believe that they will go to paradise after death. They believe that death is not the end and that it is important to live a good life to go to paradise.
