Acid and Bases - Coggle Diagram
Acid and Bases
Acid
Sour (a trait that acids have due to the hydrogen ion)
Acid Rain (when precipitation mixes with gases high up in the atmosphere, it can become acidic)
Vinegar (example of an acid)
Indicator (a substance or tool that can identify a substance being acidic or basic when mixed in)
Burette (type of indicator)
Phenolphthalein (type of indicator)
Litmus Paper (type of indicator)
Red (type of litmus paper and a color that indicates acid/base)
Blue (type of litmus paper and a color that indicates acid/base)
Base
Bitter (a trait that bases have due to the hydroxide ion)
Soaps (example of a base)
pH (pH level can identify how acidic or basic a solution or mixture is)
pOH (similar to pH where it's mainly used to find the hydroxide ion concentration instead of hydrogen)
Strong (strong acids/bases will be able to ionize completely)
Weak (weak acids/bases will only be able to ionize partially)
Neutralization (putting an acid in a base or vice versa to neutralize the pH)
Buffer (a weak acid and a conjugate base or vice versa that works in harmony to balance the pH level)
Water (can be either an acid or a base)
