Deforestation is cutting or removing trees from a forest and using the land for non-forest use. Deforestation hurts our climate as trees absorb oxygen and carbon dioxide. Forests cover 30% of the Earth's land and cutting these trees down can lead to greenhouse gases being realized into the atmosphere.

-
The Amazon Rainforest is the world's largest tropical rainforest. It has 40,000 different kinds of plants and produces 20% of the world's oxygen. In recent years, the Amazon Rainforest has been the greatest deforestation front on the planet, with 17% of the forest already lost due to deforestation. WWF believes that at this current rate, 27% of the rainforest will be destroyed by 2030.

Australia is one of the worst defrosters in the world. Over the last 100 years, Australia has warmed about 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit. Australia is constantly cutting down trees which are causing the trees to release greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide into the air, causing the climate to warm up/

The ice helps keep the Earth and the Arctic at a cool temperature. If the ice melts then our oceans will start to rise and could flood the Arctic. Melting ice also means that the Earth gets warmer and warmer as time goes on and affects our climate and global warming drastically.

-
Antarctica has been the most affected by the ice melting. Antarctica has lost almost 4 trillion metric tons of ice since the 1990s. The ocean water is melting from the bottom up, this causes them to lose more ice faster than they can freeze. This ice melting release surges of ice from the glacial masses behind them, raising worldwide ocean levels.

The global sea-level rise started at the beginning of the 1900s. From 1900 to 2016, the global sea level has risen between 16-21 centimeters. From 2018-2019, the global sea level rose 0.24 inches and the sea level rises at about 1/8 of an inch every year. Many Islands, such as most of the Grand Bahama including its capital Nassau, are projected to be completely flooded and underwater by 2050.
Livestock production is very important for our climate. Livestock production represents 70% of all land use, involves 30% of the planet's territory surface, and is liable for 18 percent of greenhouse gas substances. It also makes up 14% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Farming livestock affects our climate as methane and greenhouse gases are stored inside cows and other animals.

-
India produces some of the most livestock on Earth. The emission rate per animal is a lot lower than in developed countries such as the U.S, but due to the massive livestock population, the total methane emissions are 9-10 Tg.
-
China has the 3rd largest livestock production in the world. The majority of their livestock is made up of pigs and fowls. In 2011, Sichuan produced 51 million pigs. China harms the environment with their livestock the most, producing 1.75 million in 2012. China was over 1 million from 2nd place India, which produced about 636,000.

When burned, fossil fuels produce large amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, trapping the heat in our atmosphere. This causes can oil spills and smog air. In the U.S, fossil fuels make up about 75% of their carbon emissions. According to National Geographic, fossil fuels are the primary contributors to global warming.
-
-
Gas cars and trucks are a significant cause of global warming and climate change. Gas vehicles make up about 20% of all emissions in the United States, releasing about 24 pounds of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases for every gallon of gas.
-
-
The burning of coal and fossil fuels is one of the most harmful contributors to global warming and climate change. Recently, many countries are attempting to shut down these factories and limit the number of fossil fuels that are emitted into the air. These fossil fuel factories burn coal to produce natural gas which is then let out into the air.
-
Dumping garbage waste into the landfill is very harmful to the environment. Dumping waste in landfill is harmful as the waste decomposes and process harmful greenhouse gases, such as CO2 and Methane. It also pollutes the environment, such as the water and soil.
-
-
In 2014, the U.S released about 148 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent into the air. Right now, the U.S has 652 landfill capture sites with a capacity of 2,163 megawatts.
