Localised Oedema
What is Localized Oedema ?
Localized Oedema is oedema due to an increase in Hydrostatic Pressure of the blood, an increase in vascular permeability, and abnormality of lymphatics.
Increased Hydrostatic pressure of the blood is due to: Venous Thrombosis, Pressure on veins from outside, Cirrhosis.
Increase in vascular permeability: is usually part of inflammation, fluid exudation, endothelial cells contraction.
Abnormality of Lymphatics: maybe due to congenital absence of lymphatics, surgical removal of lymphatics or Obstruction of lymphatics such as a Carcinoma or irradiation.
