The purpose of mortal families is to bring children into the world, to teach them what is right, and to prepare all family members for exaltation in eternal family relationships.
Choice or Agency
The test in this postwar mortal estate is not to secure choice but to use it—to choose good instead of evil so that we can achieve our eternal goals
In mortality, choice is a method, not a goal.

Diversity

Our members are asked to concentrate their efforts to strengthen our unity—not to glorify our diversity.
If we are united on our eternal goal and united on the inspired principles that will get us there, we can be diverse on individual efforts in support of our goals and consistent with those principles.
Ducks are Different
“Each of us is unique; be tolerant. People are different, but that’s not necessarily bad.”
The gospel teaches us that that which is eternal in us provides kinship that no physical differences should undermine.
We must move ever higher—but not by stepping on others to get our footing. The moment we’ve found a handhold or foothold of truth, we must mark it well and reach out to those behind or below that they may find it, too.
If we can learn patience, allowing all men the privilege of seeing truth at their own pace, we will have moved measurably toward the compassion and love of the Savior,
