- - - - Ecocentrism: Ecocentrism proposes that there is an intrinsic value to natural resources and natural systems and that spiritual, social and environmental dimensions are all integrated.
      - Anthropocentrism: Anthropocentrism is a human-centred worldview that believes nature is there not because it has any intrinsic value, but because we can use all of its natural resources for our benefit.
      - Technocentrism: Technocentric value systems have absolute faith in technology and industry. Natural processes need to be understood so that they can be controlled and replaced by technology if necessary.
  - - - Inputs: Input identifies the elements that go into the system in order for there to be processes, outputs and feedback.
      - Outputs: Outputs are the flows of matter and energy that leave the system.
      - Positive Feedback: In this case the system responds to a change (internal or external) and the feedback moves the system in the same direction
      - Negative Feedback: In this case the system responds to a change (internal or external) and the feedback moves the system in the opposite direction
      - Processes: Processes act on the inputs and transform them into outputs.
      - Tipping point:A tipping point is part of a system that kick-starts self-perpetuating positive feedback loops that push the systems to a new state of equilibrium.
    - - Open system: An open system exchanges matter and energy with its surroundings. Eg. Ecosystems
      - Closed system: A closed system exchanges energy but does not exchange matter with its surroundings. Eg. major global cycles
      - Isolated System: An isolated system exchanges neither energy nor matter with its surroundings. Eg. The universe
- - - - Sources of Pollution
        
        Point source pollution: Point source pollution is a single identifiable source of pollution such as a discharge from a wastewater treatment plant. This source of pollution is easier to monitor and control.
        
        Non-point source pollution: Non-point source pollution is pollution from diffuse sources. This is difficult to monitor and control.
      - Pollution Examples:
        
        Acid Deposition: Acid rain, or acid deposition, is a broad term that includes any form of precipitation with acidic components, such as sulfuric or nitric acid that fall to the ground from the atmosphere in wet or dry forms.
        
        Domestic Waste: It is a term for man-made waste (basically consisting of plastic litter) discarded in the environment and often found in the sea or along the coastline, either floating on the surface or submerged.
        
        Radiation:The radioactive pollution is defined as the physical pollution of living organisms and their environment as a result of release of radioactive substances into the environment during nuclear explosions and testing of nuclear weapons, nuclear weapon production and decommissioning etc.
        
        Smog: Smog is air pollution that reduces visibility. (smoke + fog)
        
        Oil Spills: An oil spill is the release of a liquid petroleum hydrocarbon into the environment, especially the marine ecosystem, due to human activity, and is a form of pollution. The term is usually given to marine oil spills, where oil is released into the ocean or coastal waters, but spills may also occur on land.

  - - - Types of Natural Capitals
        
        Renewable: A renewable resource is one that can be used repeatedly and does not run out because it is naturally replaced.
        
        Replenishable source: A non-living resource which can be continuously restored by the natural processes as fast as they are used.
        
        Non-renewable source: A non-renewable resource is one that cannot be used repeatedly as it runs out because it cannot be naturally replaced.

      - Producers: the plants that convert energy into matter.
      - Decomposers: organisms that breakdown waste into component parts for reuse.
