Freedom
Denotative: "The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint."
Personal: The ability to think and behave as you see, as long it doesn't affect the freedoms and rights of others, fit without repercussions from the Government. The ability to be yourself and make your own choices, as long it doesn't affect the freedoms and rights of others, without ridicule.
Symbols of Freedom: The Constitution, Declaration of Independence, The Bill of Right, and The Statue of Liberty.
"By limiting the power of the government and the churches and eliminating a formal aristocracy, the early settlers created a climate of freedom where the emphasis was on the individual."
