2.2 MATERIALS - Coggle Diagram

- - - - Spray Cellulose Insulation: Reduces envelope air leakage characteristics
  - - - LOW DENSITY PolyStyrene is suitable for use as a sheathing material for both below and above ground exterior walls. It can also insulate interior basement walls.
    - - HIGH DENSITY. It can also be used to insulate below grade walls on the exterior and under slabs-on-grade. Because it is combustible, they must be covered with a FIRE PROTECTIVE COATING such as a 12.7mm (1/2 inch) drywall when installed.
    - - Type II, III, and IV. Type IV is also suitable for use in built up roofing application.
    - - Polyicynene RSI/mm (R/in)= 0.62 (3.6)
      - Polyisocyanate (PolyUrethane) RSI/mm (R/in)= 0.96 (5.5) Gases produced by burning this product are VERY TOXIC
      - Spray PolyUrethane foam (SPF)
        
        Low-density foam (.5 pounds) is typically installed in ONE PASS
        
        Medium-density foam (2 pounds) it can be used without a seperate vapour barrier.

    - - Bonds to most places except PolyEthylene, and is more durable than oil or resin-based.
    - - Used for Masonry
    - - Good for masonry and metal, suited for areas where moisture is a problem.
    - - Used for concrete, it is paintable and durable
    - - Bonds well only to glass,metal and ceramics. Very durable. Used in areas where moisture is a problem.
    - - Bonds to most surfaces except PolyEthylene
    - - Sealant of choice for PolyEthylene
