Magnets and Magnetism
Magnets are minerals that have magnetic properties. Magnets can apply forces to other magnets and metals thanks to magnetism. Magnetism refers to the properties and interactions magnets have.
Magnetic Poles, Forces and Fields
Magnets have two poles. Poles act similar to charges, they repel if are alike and attract if they are the same. The strength of the magnets increases as the closer they are to each other and their strength decreases as they are from each other.

A magnetic field is a region of space in which magnetic forces act upon. The magnetic fields are represented with lines in a graph. The lines go from north pole to south pole. Magnetic Poles are separated in north and south. Each time you cut a magnet, a new south pole or north pole emerged, based on which pole they are closer to.
