    - - James Hendrickson (1980) advised teachers to try to discern the difference between global (errors that cannot be interpretated by the hearer) and local errors (those that are interpretable)
        
        Hendrickson recommended that local errors not be corrected because the message is clear and correction might interrupt a learner's flow of communication
