reaction of an element or compound with oxygen to form and oxide and produce heat. ALWAYS HAS PRODUCT OF JUST CO2 & H2O AND HAS ORGANIC REACTANT!

Balancing
Steps for balancing an equation: 1. write how many of each element are on the left side (ex: 1 Ca, 6 H) 2. write how many of each element are on the other side of the equation. 3. Figure out which numbers you can place in front of each of the elements in order to make the number of each element even.
C3H8+O2----->4H20+3CO2. so then to balance this you would keep the C3 b/c its stable on both sides and the you would look at how many Hs you have on each side. you have 8 and two. then, look at how many Os you have on each side: you have 2 and seven. so in order to balance this equation you would have to change the H2 to an H10 and the O7 to an O10
