Clear learning goals are the foundation of any effective curriculum. Whereas traditional curriculum planning focuses heavily on content or performance goals, UDL curriculum planning aims to develop expert learners.
The two primary types of assessment are 1) formative assessment, which is employed during instruction to gauge a learner's progress and make adjustments in teaching and learning; and 2) summative assessment, which measures educational performance once instruction is completed, usually for accountability purposes.
Instructional methods include the decisions, approaches, procedures, and routines that teachers use to accelerate or enhance learning.
Materials encompass the media used to present learning content and the tools and media used by students while learning and to demonstrate knowledge.
