WW1 was known as total war, which meant that all countries had to give their resources to the war effort.
The whole force of the government including Britain, Germany, Austria, Russia and France were committed to winning
Most factories were now turning to munition factories, where almost every person was put to work
There was a shortage of goods, so this led to governments turning to rationing
-
Governments would silence activity involing antiwar, almost always enforcing
Would people ever begin to wonder about the war, if the news was going silence?
-
This impacted people by only being able to buy smaller amounts of the items needed for the war effort
-
A: Total War lead to rationing because It meant they had to devote essential goods to the war effort, resulting in less for those at home.

-

Each of these countries government would control the economy by telling factories how much, and what they should produce

Adaption: Adaption is the act of making something suitable for a new use or purpose. This relates to this section because after all of these lives were lost, societies had to adapt to the loss of population and their families. They had to learn to how survive without them.

The Allies Win The War
-
How did the surrender of the Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria and the revolution in Austria-Hungary lead to the end of World War I?
When these happened, it left Germany alone in the war, so they chose to surrender rather than fighting a war they won't win
Pattern
When all the other Central Powers nations surrender it made Germany also surrender which is a constant pattern of the surrender of all Central Powers nations
Independence
With all of the other Central Powers nations surrenders, it left Germany alone and independent in the war which would make it nearly impossible to win
However this attack was a failure due to economic exhaustion, starvation, and the arrival of two million American troops
Before the German surrender they attempted one last time to attack the Western Front, this attack was called the Spring Offensive

During the total war, governments would turn to help women, more than ever before
Women began to replace the workers of men in factories, offices, and shops
The jobs of women would range anywhere from building tanks and munitions, plowing fields, paving streets, and running hospitals
Women were also helping make sure that troops were supplied with there necessities; food, clothing, and weapons
After the war, most women left the work force, but they left a huge remark for the way people view them now
-
-
-
System: System was a concept that was presented in this chapter because all women were working together to make sure that these troops had everything they needed. It was a system that was going on over time.
Would there jobs ever change, or would they stay consistent?
