cousulting school counselor for more strategies
When signs of special needs arising, homeroom teacher should start observation
meet parents, gain knowledge of the student's background information, come up strategies and indivialized learning plan
identify learner's barriers- 13 IDEA recognized disabilities
Differentiated instruction
individulized workload and time allotment
one-on-one tutoring
small group activities
manipulative
Assistive technology
Step3: School Involvement
School counselor collects evidence
IEP meeting: meeting parents with school counselor, principal
Seek for professional help:
follow up communication with parents
Step2: Meet parents for background information
understand the background information of the student
gain knowledge of the student's behavior at home
Make approapriate plans reachable goals with parents
